Changes To The School Store
By Debby Fernand
Due to overcrowding outside of the School Store, DECA Advisor Mrs. Linda Ciccatelli has made major changes to how and when the store will open. The School Store, popular for their chocolate chip cookies, was shut down when students began to crowd on the stairwells at the end of the B2 hallway. Although this has been an issue before, the inability of students to cooperate with administration’s orders led to affirmative action.
To avoid overcrowding, there will now be a kiosk set up at 2:45 p.m. by the nurse’s office as an attempt to expand the store. This will give students the opportunity to create a line to pay outside upon entering to obtain cookies, beverages, or any spirit wear that the business club sells.
However, the late opening of the School Store will make an impact on sales. Majority of students stop by the store directly after school before proceeding with their extracurricular activities and/or sports, but by 2:45 p.m., potential customers will be at sports practices or club meetings. With these changes, setbacks arise, but the new rules are crucial in enforcing safety precautions, which is a priority.
